“Idyllic setting”
During a recent overnight stay in Monemvasia my wife and I visited this charming restaurant for our evening meal. We were seated on the upper veranda with views over the sea and back to the rock and its fortress. As twilight approached the setting was magical and very romantic.
The staff were excellent, helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. the food was excellent, well presented and perfectly balanced. We started with local smoked pork sausage which contained small pieces of orange...fabulous flavours. We both had swordfish with mixed roasted vegetables. The fish was sweet and succulent and the vegetables were very tasty in a light sauce.
The wine list is quite comprehensive and includes local and award winning wines. Our waiter was most helpful in guiding us in our choice to compliment the fish perfectly,(and was NOT one of the most expensive).
We were presented with a lovely piece of orange cake in a honey and orange sauce. Gorgeous. We left feeling very pleasantly satisfied without being too uncomfortably full.
In all, a lovely experience, well worth the price and we considered, not expensive for what we had.
